Ruffey Washhouse is a small rural wash-house located in the hamlet of Ruffey, just beside the former estate walls of the Château de Ruffey. Built on a square plan with a two-sloped roof, it includes a stone washing basin and an adjoining fountain covered by a large monolithic slab.
For generations it was a lively social space where women met to wash clothes and exchange news, forming part of the daily life of the hamlet. Now listed in the commune’s local heritage inventory, the lavoir remains a significant reminder of rural traditions and the essential role of shared water structures in Burgundy.
